Sunset over Delos from your dinner table
Agios Ioannis is a short, sheltered beach on the west coast, facing directly across the strait to Delos and Rhenia. The sun sets behind the sacred island, which makes the beach restaurants here the island's most romantic dinner tables — and has done since the bay stood in for the whole of Greece in the film Shirley Valentine.
The beach is small and sandy with a scattering of sunbeds, and a second, tinier cove sits round the point at Kapari. A few upmarket hotels and villa complexes climb the hillside, most with west-facing terraces built for the evening.
It is close enough to Ornos and town for everything else, and quiet enough that you will not hear either.

Seasonal buses from Fabrika station; taxis from town are a short ride. Walkable to Ornos along the road.
