Beach parties by day, clubs by night, and the cheapest beds on the coast

Paradise made the island's party reputation in the 1970s and it still delivers: beach bars start the music after lunch, the crowd builds through the afternoon, and the clubs on the point take over after dark. The beach is sandy and organised, and water-sports rentals line the eastern end.

It is also the only southern beach with a real budget option — a long-running campsite and bungalow resort sits directly behind the sand, and the hostels and simple rooms around it attract a young crowd from across Europe and beyond.

If you want peace, look elsewhere. If you want the scene, this is its address, and it is easy to reach by bus or sea taxi.

Beach

Sandy, organised, loud from mid-afternoon in season. Good swimming in the morning before the music starts.

Nights

The island's best-known beach clubs, with international DJs in high season and parties that run until sunrise.

Getting around

Regular seasonal buses from Fabrika station, including late services in high season. Sea taxis from Ornos and Platis Gialos. A footpath links it to Paraga.

Season

The clubs and most beach bars operate roughly from late May to September; outside that the beach is quiet and much of it closed.
