Kalafatis is a different Mykonos: a long sandy bay on the east coast with steady wind for windsurfing and kitesurfing, a couple of tavernas and no beach clubs. The Aphrodite is its main hotel, a spread-out, low-rise resort on the beach with its own restaurant.
It suits families and active travellers who would rather have space and water sports than a scene, and who are happy to drive or bus to Ano Mera and town.
