Much of Mykonos beyond the south coast is dry, rocky and only reachable on dirt tracks. Jeep and ATV tours turn that into the point: remote beaches, the lighthouse at Armenistis, and the inland village of Ano Mera.
Guided jeep tours typically loop the island in half a day: Ano Mera and its monastery, the north coast beaches, a viewpoint or two, and a swim. They suit people who want to see the whole island without renting and navigating themselves.
ATV and buggy tours are more about the ride. Roads are narrow, surfaces are loose and summer traffic is heavy, so a guided convoy is a safer choice than a rental for first-timers. Horseback rides run in the quieter north and east, often timed for sunset.
None of this is strenuous, but it is exposed. Dust, sun and wind are the constants — bring sunglasses, a scarf and closed shoes.
