Ohi Day is a public holiday across Greece. On Mykonos the morning centres on a doxology at the Metropolitan church followed by a student parade along the harbour front. It is a genuinely local occasion rather than a visitor event, and a good day to see the town without summer crowds.
Late October is shoulder season: many beach clubs and some restaurants have already closed for the year, ferries run a reduced timetable, and weather can swing between warm sun and the first autumn storms.
