Semeli is a Chora institution: a whitewashed complex of courtyards and gardens on the Rohari hill above the harbour, with a pool that is a genuine oasis after a day in the lanes. The restaurant and bar are good enough to draw non-guests.

It is for visitors who want to be in town — every restaurant, bar and the Delos boats within a ten-minute walk — but sleep somewhere calm. It is not a beach hotel.

In the upper part of Chora near the School of Fine Arts; no beach, but the whole town is on foot and Megali Ammos is a 15-minute walk.
