Like Ohi Day in October, 25 March combines church and state: a doxology, wreath-laying and a parade of schoolchildren in traditional dress. Bakaliaros skordalia (fried cod with garlic purée) is the traditional meal, and tavernas that are open will serve it.

Late March sits before the season starts. A handful of hotels and restaurants in Chora are open year-round; most beach areas are closed until late April or May.
