Megali Ammos is the beach most visitors never notice — a wide sandy strip just south of the windmills — and Joanna's Nikos Place is its taverna. The food is Greek home cooking, the tables are on the sand, and the sun sets straight in front of you for a fraction of what the same view costs a few hundred metres north.

It is a fifteen-minute walk from the centre of Chora along the coast, or a short taxi ride.
